“BADGE OF SHAME”

” Andrew spellman”,  a former inmate at hmp cardiff has been recalled to prison following being accused of breaching his licence conditions.

Andrew was initially released in September from Hmp Cardiff and the subject to licence conditions, one of which to live at an approved address that he wasn’t provided with, homeless, understandably he then stayed in a safe location with his partner where he had lived prior to custody.

We have taken the decision to write about this because its utterly bizarre!!

Andrew is not allowed to stay at a named person’s address, however as he was released homeless, and took a decision to ensure his safety he then staying at the said address, which essentially was wrong under his licence conditions, as he wasn’t allowed to see his partner and has been arrested tonight.

Bizarrely, he will be allowed to see his partner inside the jail, but not allowed to stay there.

At in time in which prisons are full and capacity is bursting through the seams, we now have 1 less space because this person has been recalled to jail.

We anticipate this will be a 28 day recalled whilst subjecting the cost to the tax payer of £4000.
